EA SPORTS FC 27 Lite (sometimes searched for as "FIFA 27 Lite") is a free, limited version of EA SPORTS FC 27. On PC, it is offered through the EA app, Steam and the Epic Games Store. If some modes are missing or the game won't start offline, it usually isn't a bug: these limits are part of the Lite version, according to EA Help.

- Ultimate Team, The Grounds or Manager Career don't appear in the main menu.
- Only a few teams are available in Kick-Off.
- The game doesn't work without an Internet connection.

What FC 27 Lite includes
According to EA Help, FC 27 Lite gives access to the following modes:

EA also states that modes, features and content aren't available at all times and in all territories, and are subject to change (EA service updates).
Step 1: confirm you are playing the Lite version
When to use it: a full-game mode can't be found in the main menu.
Suggested solution
- Compare the modes shown in the main menu with the table above.
- Check the exact name of the installed game in your library (EA app, Steam or Epic Games Store).
Expected result: if only the modes in the table are offered, you are on FC 27 Lite. Ultimate Team, The Grounds or Manager Career being absent is then normal.
Step 2: upgrade to the full version
When to use it: you want to access the modes not included in the Lite version.
Suggested solution
- Launch FC 27 Lite with the EA Account you will use for the full game.
- Follow the prompts in the main menu to upgrade.
- On PC, restart the game once the upgrade is done: this is the step EA gives to start playing the full version.
Expected result: after the restart, Ultimate Team, The Grounds and Manager Career appear in the main menu.

Step 3: game won't play offline
When to use it: FC 27 Lite refuses to start a mode without a connection.
Suggested solution
- Reconnect the PC to the Internet: according to EA, FC Lite isn't available offline and requires a persistent online connection for all modes, including Kick-Off and Learn to Play.
- Then relaunch the game.

- Progress: it carries over to the full game as long as you use the same EA Account on the same platform. The EA article doesn't cover the case where the Lite version and the full game come from two different PC stores (EA app, Steam, Epic Games Store); to be safe, upgrade from the installed Lite game, with the same EA Account.
- Still on the Lite version after buying on PC: first check that the game was restarted after the upgrade, then that the EA Account signed in to the game is the one that made the purchase.
- Team gone from Kick-Off: the team selection rotates; a team available at launch may not be available later.
