The 4 possible situations
| Situation | Typical sign | Where to check |
|---|---|---|
| Server outage or maintenance | Several online modes affected at once, many players affected | EA server status |
| Bug already fixed | The problem appears in the notes of an update | Update notes / Pitch Notes |
| Known bug, not yet fixed | The problem is listed by EA as "investigating" | EA SPORTS FC Trello tracker |
| Local problem | Only you are affected, the bug also appears offline or after a power cut | Game files, console, account |
Step 1: rule out a server outage
Observation: everything online (Ultimate Team, Clubs, The Grounds, matchmaking) misbehaves at the same time.
Check: look at the EA server status page and the official EA SPORTS FC Direct account on X.
Action: if an outage or maintenance is announced, wait until service is restored. Reinstalling the game or changing your network settings is pointless in this case.
Expected result: the problem goes away once the service is restored. If it persists while everything is shown as operational, go to step 2.
Step 2: install the latest update
Some launch bugs are fixed by game updates. EA announced update v1.1 for 27 October 2026, with full patch notes published the same day. The v1.1 Pitch Notes already published mention these fixes among others:
- players could become permanently stuck during the tutorial;
- The Grounds crashes when entering the Store or during some loading screens;
- party members stuck on an incorrect UI when the party leader leaves the matchmaking queue.
Source: Update v1.1 Pitch Notes. The Pitch Notes are only an overview: check the full patch notes as soon as they are published to see whether your bug is listed.
Check: make sure the update is actually installed. On PC, the EA app installs pending updates when the app restarts: close it completely, then launch it again. EA also states that the latest updates can be downloaded in game via Settings (cogwheel icon) > Edit Teams > Download Updates.
Expected result: if your bug is among the fixes, it should no longer happen after the update. Some fixes are not retroactive: start a new session if needed (new save, new match) to check.
Step 3: check whether EA is already tracking the bug
EA maintains a public board, the EA SPORTS FC Trello tracker, where known issues are sorted by status (investigating, fixed in an upcoming update, etc.).
Action: search for your problem with keywords (for example the mode name: Career, Clubs, Ultimate Team, The Grounds).
- The bug is listed: it is known. Waiting for the fix is often the only option, unless EA gives a workaround on the card.
- The bug is not listed: go to step 4 before reporting it.
Stop point: there is no need to reinstall the game for a bug listed on the tracker, since it affects all players concerned and does not come from your installation.
Step 4: rule out a local problem
If you are the only one affected, or if the bug also appears in offline modes or after a power cut or a forced shutdown, game files may be the cause. Two guides explain what to do:
- on PC, PS5 and Xbox: Bugs and disconnections in EA SPORTS FC 27: delete the corrupted game files;
- if the game crashes or freezes on console: EA SPORTS FC 27 crashing or freezing on PS5 or Xbox Series.
Warning: deleting some files can erase local data (settings, offline saves). Read the warnings in those guides carefully before acting.
Step 5: report a new bug to EA
EA gathers its feedback channels on the FC Feedback page:
| Channel | Use |
|---|---|
| Player Feedback Portal | Detailed feedback on any part of the game. EA states that signing in with your EA account lets it analyse your feedback in more detail. |
| EA SPORTS FC Forums | Share a bug, see whether other players have it, follow the discussions. |
| Official EA SPORTS FC Discord | Discuss the game and share feedback with the development team. |
To make a report useful, include:
- the platform (PC with EA app or Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, etc.);
- the mode (Career, Clubs, Ultimate Team, The Grounds…) and the exact screen or menu;
- what you were doing just before the bug and the steps to reproduce it;
- how often it happens (every time, sometimes, once);
- if possible, a screenshot or a short video.
Expected result: the portal and the forums are not individual support services. You will not necessarily get a personal reply, but reported bugs feed into fixes and the tracker.
Cases that are not bug reports
- Cheating player, offensive name or harassment: use player reporting as described in Report a player in EA SPORTS FC 27.
- "Service unavailable" error in Ultimate Team: see Service unavailable error after an Ultimate Team match.
- Purchases, missing items, locked or hacked account: these problems concern your account and go through EA Help, not the feedback portal.
