Windows 11 Device Info card on Settings Home expands to more markets (KB5127936)
Optional preview KB5127936 (October 28, 2026) expands the Device Info card on Settings Home — first introduced in March 2026 preview KB5079391 — to additional markets for Microsoft account users on Windows 11 25H2 and 26H2 (gradual rollout; availability may depend on device or market).
Windows 11 Settings gains a gradual-rollout [Settings] improvement in optional preview KB5127936 (October 28, 2026; OS builds 26300.9818 and 26200.9818) for versions 25H2 and 26H2: the Device Info card on the Settings Home page — first introduced in the March 2026 preview update KB5079391 — is expanding to additional markets.
This News brief covers only that Microsoft-documented Device Info item. It is not a Phone Link Start-hover rehash (already a separate TricknFix article), not a File Explorer ~ / search-layout rehash, and not a Privacy Camera/Microphone/Location regrouping guide (already a community topic). No hands-on Settings lab test is claimed. Facts follow the Microsoft Support page for KB5127936 as consulted on 6 November 2026 (Europe/Paris), with KB5079391 used only for first-introduction context.
What KB5127936 adds under Settings (Device Info)
Under gradual rollout [Settings], Microsoft documents:
- Device Info card expanding — The Device Info card on the Settings Home page, first introduced in the March 2026 preview update KB5079391, is expanding to additional markets.
- Who can see it — Available to users signed in with a Microsoft account.
- What it shows — The card provides a quick view of key PC specifications and usage, with more detailed device information available under Settings > System > About. Footnote 1 — Feature availability may depend on your device or market. Microsoft does not list which markets are newly included. For introduction context only: KB5079391 described the Home device-information card as simplifying key device specifications and improving consistency with the end-to-end flow from the Home card to Settings > System > About. Nearby in the same Settings gradual group, Microsoft also notes Privacy & security Camera / Microphone / Location grouping (covered separately on TricknFix) and small visual refinements to the temporary-files section under Settings > System > Storage.
Same KB, different angles (not this article)
The same preview documents many other items that are out of scope as the main angle here. For readers following the same package, TricknFix already covers nearby work:
Phone Link Start hover preview — separate News article (Phone Link Start hover preview).
File Explorer ~ address bar + search-results layout — separate News article (File Explorer tilde / search layout).
- Cloud rebuild — same KB, separate recovery feature (Cloud rebuild).
Who gets it, and how optional it is
KB5127936 is a non-security preview for Windows 11 25H2 and 26H2. Availability of this Device Info item follows a gradual rollout: features reach devices over time, so presence varies by device even after the package is installed. Combined with footnote 1, that means device and market conditions can both affect whether you see the card.
Microsoft also notes that starting with the October 2026 release, Windows 11 version 24H2 no longer receives non-security preview updates. Non-security preview updates are available only for 25H2 and 26H2; 24H2 Enterprise and Education continue to receive monthly security updates but not this class of preview package.
Typical consumer path documented on the KB page: Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options > Optional updates, then install the available optional update if offered. On a managed PC, ask IT before installing an optional preview. Prerequisite and servicing details remain on the KB.
What this article does not cover
Do not treat this page as a full KB5127936 changelog. Phone Link Start hover, File Explorer ~, Unicode 17.0 text shaping, DPAPI prompt-based protect/unprotect, Magnifier, Taskbar animations, Narrator, BitLocker, Memory Integrity, Smart App Control, PowerShell 5.1 shortcut naming, and other items in the same preview are out of scope here (some already have separate TricknFix coverage).
No invented market lists, no invented card field inventory beyond Microsoft’s “key PC specifications and usage,” and no UI screenshots are claimed. Attribute only what KB5127936 states for this Settings Device Info New! item (plus verified KB5079391 introduction context).
