This guide covers the Ultimate Team™ Transfer Market in EA SPORTS FC 27 (often searched for as "FIFA 27") when it stays locked in the game on PC, or in the Web App and Companion App. This is generally not a bug: EA deliberately limits access for new accounts to protect the game's economy. There are therefore two separate unlocks that should not be confused: the one in the game, and the one for the Web and Companion Apps. No PC setting or reinstall speeds them up.
Problem
- In the game: you cannot search for a player, bid or use Buy Now, while listing items works.
- In the game: the Transfer Market and Champions stay locked.
- In the Web or Companion App: the Transfer Market is not accessible, even after unlocking it in the game.
Step 1: identify where access is missing
When to use it: always first.
Suggested solution
- In the game on PC, is the Transfer Market locked, or only limited (listing possible, but no search or buying)? Then go to step 2.
- In the Web or Companion App, is access missing while the game works? Go straight to step 3: EA states that completing Graduated Access in the game doesn't automatically unlock the Web and Companion Apps.
- Make sure you are logged in to the EA Account linked to your game, as EA asks, both in the game and in the apps.
Expected result: you know which unlock applies to you.
Step 2: unlock the Transfer Market in the game
When to use it: if you are new to FC and the Transfer Market is locked or limited in the game.
Suggested solution
- Go to Ultimate Team™, then select Objectives.
- Complete the The Journey Begins group to unlock First Team Dreams.
- Complete First Team Dreams to unlock Rising Through the Ranks.
- Complete Rising Through the Ranks: this unlocks access to the Transfer Market and Champions.
- Wait. On PC, full access is granted within 48 hours (24 hours on other platforms). During that time you can list items, but not search, bid or use Buy Now. This is the normal behaviour described by EA.
Expected result: after 48 hours at most on PC, search, bidding and Buy Now work.
For Champions, the same 48-hour delay on PC applies, provided you already meet the other entry requirements, including Division Rivals progression and Champions Qualification Points.
Step 3: unlock access in the Web and Companion Apps
When to use it: if the Transfer Market is not available in the Web App or the Companion App.
Suggested solution
- Returning players: you might have been eligible for access at launch if your EA Account is in good standing and you had earned access in FC 26 before August 1, 2026, FC 25 before August 1, 2025 or FC 24 before August 1, 2024. In that case, access opened from September 16, 2026 for the Web App and September 17, 2026 for the Companion App.
- Otherwise, access is earned by playing Ultimate Team™, by building up active days. According to EA, a day is active when, within one calendar day in UTC and for a single Ultimate Team™ account, you have:
- played three full matches in Ultimate Team™;
- and logged in to the Web or Companion App.
- No need to play more: EA says that playing more than three matches per day won't increase your chances.
- Count the number of days needed:
- no other Ultimate Team™ account created or used on your device: normally two active days;
- other Ultimate Team™ accounts created or used on the device: normally at least four active days, and longer if there are many such accounts.
- To track your matches played, EA points to FC Playtime: How to set up and use EA SPORTS FC™ Playtime.
Expected result: EA sends an in-game message to your Ultimate Team™ account when access is unlocked. You can also check it in the apps.
EA Help advisors can't grant access to the Transfer Market or tell you when you'll get it. Be wary of any service promising an unlock in exchange for payment or your login details.
Special case: access blocked for breaking the rules
When to use it: if the Web or Companion App shows one of these messages, quoted by EA.

Although you can't access the Football Ultimate Team™ Transfer Market on Web and Companion Apps for the current FC title, you can still use the in-game Transfer Market. Suggested solution
- Check the mailbox associated with your EA Account: EA explains the reason for the block there.
- Read the EA SPORTS FC™ rules to understand what is penalised.
- If you believe the penalty is a mistake, follow EA's procedure: EA Account bans, suspensions, and locks: how to appeal and check status.
- If you think your account was hacked, secure it first through EA Help.
Expected result: you know the reason for the block and the possible route of appeal.
Note: a Transfer Market ban received in FC 26 does not carry over to FC 27, but access is not automatic either: you have to earn it again by playing. However, a ban from the FC franchise also applies to FC 27.
Final check
- ☐ You are logged in to the EA Account linked to your game.
- ☐ The objective groups up to Rising Through the Ranks are complete, and 48 hours have passed on PC.
- ☐ For the apps: at least two active days (three full matches plus an app login, within the same UTC day).
- ☐ The unlock message has appeared in the game.
