EA verification code not received for EA SPORTS FC 27: causes and solutions

Tutorial

You launch EA SPORTS FC 27 (often searched for as "FIFA 27") on a new PC or console, and your EA Account asks for a verification code that never arrives. EA explains that once two-factor authentication (2FA) is set up, a code is sent every time a new device tries to log in to your EA Account. This guide follows the EA Help articles listed at the end of the topic, checked on October 27, 2026.

Problem

  • The verification code sent by email does not arrive, even after several tries.
  • The code goes to a different email address than the one you expected.
  • You no longer have the phone or authenticator app used for 2FA.
  • You cannot log in to your EA Account from a new device to play EA SPORTS FC 27.

Prerequisites

  • Know which email address is tied to the EA Account you use for EA SPORTS FC 27. If you forgot it, EA explains how to find your EA Account email address.
  • Have access to that mailbox, to another 2FA method (authenticator app, text message) or to your backup codes.

Step 1: Resend the code and check your mailbox

When to use it: you chose email as your 2FA method and the code has not arrived.

Suggested solution

  1. On the verification screen, ask for the code to be sent again.
  2. Make sure your inbox is not full.
  3. Check the spam (junk) folder.
  4. Make sure neither you nor your internet or email provider are blocking EA's emails.

Expected result: the code arrives in your inbox or spam folder.

Step 2: Make sure you are using the right EA Account

When to use it: you have several EA Accounts, or you launch EA SPORTS FC 27 through Steam or Epic Games with a linked account.

Suggested solution

  1. Check the email address or EA ID entered on the login screen.
  2. EA warns that if you are logged in to a different EA Account, your codes might go to the wrong email.
  3. If you play through Steam, check which EA Account is linked: Steam account linked to the wrong EA Account in EA SPORTS FC 27: check and fix.

Expected result: the code is sent to the address of the EA Account that owns EA SPORTS FC 27.

Step 3: Unblock the sender ea@e.ea.com

When to use it: steps 1 and 2 did not help.

Suggested solution

  1. In your mailbox, look for a past email from ea@e.ea.com.
  2. Open it and allow images to be displayed.
  3. Go back to the verification screen and resend the code.

Expected result: the new code arrives in your inbox.

Step 4: Use another method or a backup code

When to use it: you lost access to your usual 2FA method (lost or replaced phone, wiped authenticator app, cancelled phone number).

Suggested solution

  1. If several methods are enabled on the account, pick another one at the verification step.
  2. Otherwise, enter one of the backup codes you wrote down when setting up 2FA. EA states that they are the only way to sign in from a new device if you cannot access your chosen verification method.
  3. Once logged in, open your EA Account Security and Privacy page, go to Two-factor authentication and select Edit to set a preferred 2FA method that works.

Expected result: you are logged in and the account's 2FA method is up to date.

Step 5: Recover the account if you lost access to the email

When to use it: you cannot access or remember the email address of your EA Account, and you have no backup code.

Suggested solution

  1. Follow the EA article How to get back into your EA Account: log in with a linked platform account or another 2FA method, depending on your situation.
  2. Also try to recover the mailbox with your email provider.
  3. If nothing works, contact EA Help, which says it can try to recover your account.
  4. If you suspect someone else changed the account, follow the EA article What to do if your EA Account was hacked instead.

Expected result: you get back into your EA Account, or a recovery request is open with EA.

Final check

  • ☐ The code was resent and the spam folder checked.
  • ☐ The EA Account entered is the one that owns EA SPORTS FC 27.
  • ☐ A past email from ea@e.ea.com was opened with images allowed.
  • ☐ Another 2FA method or a backup code was tried if needed.

How to avoid this in the future

  • After setting up 2FA, select View backup codes and write them down in a safe place, as EA recommends.
  • Before removing or resetting your old phone, save your backup codes and transfer your authenticator app data if your app supports it.
  • Never share your login details, passwords, verification codes or passkeys.
