Step 1: install the v1.1.0 update
When to use it: always first.
Suggested solution
- Fully close EA SPORTS FC 27.
- Open your launcher (EA app, Steam or Epic Games Store) and let it install the game update.
- Launch the game again.
Expected result: the game is on v1.1.0 or later and the mouse issues listed above are fixed.
When to stop: if no update is offered, check the EA server status and try again later.
Step 2: check the mouse outside the game
When to use it: the mouse still does not respond after the update.
Suggested solution
- Check that the mouse works normally on the Windows desktop and in another game.
- For a wireless mouse, replace or recharge the battery, and move the receiver closer (or plug it into another USB port).
- Close any software that adds macros or on-screen overlays while you test.
- Launch the game again and repeat the test in the same place.
Expected result: the mouse responds in Windows and in the game.
When to stop: if the mouse does not work in Windows either, the problem comes from the hardware or its driver, not from EA SPORTS FC 27.
Step 3: enlarge clickable targets
When to use it: some buttons are hard to reach or click in the menus.
Suggested solution
- Open the game's settings, then the accessibility or controls settings.
- Turn on the Larger Clickable Targets option, which enlarges mouse-clickable elements according to EA (English label; name in other languages to be checked).
- To pause a match with the mouse, EA also describes the On-Screen Pause in Gameplay option.
Expected result: menu elements are easier to aim at and click.
Rollback: turn the option off if the interface feels too cluttered.
Step 4: work around an unresponsive click in the meantime
When to use it: a specific button does not respond to clicks even though the game is up to date.
Suggested solution
- Try the keyboard key shown on screen for the same action.
- If you have a controller, plug it in and confirm the action with it.
- Note the exact menu and option involved so you can report it (see the end of the guide).
Expected result: the action is confirmed despite the unresponsive click.
Step 5: change key bindings in Keyboard Only mode
When to use it: you play with the keyboard without a mouse and cannot change the keys in The Grounds.
Suggested solution
- Make sure the game is on v1.1.0 or later: EA fixed this issue in it.
- Open the Customize Controls menu (EA's English label) and choose the Classic or Alternate layout.
- Swap the keys you want. EA states that only some actions can be remapped.
Expected result: your custom keys are saved and used in The Grounds.
