Career Mode save missing in EA SPORTS FC 27: causes and solutions

English translation of the original French post. Code, commands, paths and error codes keep their original meaning. Replies and moderation are shared in the original discussion.

You launch Career Mode in EA SPORTS FC 27 (sometimes searched for as "FIFA 27") and your save does not appear, or the Load button is gone. In several cases documented by EA, the save still exists: wrong profile, cloud saves not enabled, automatic loading, or a different version of the game. This guide goes through these checks in order, then points out the one case where the loss is permanent.

Problem

  • Your Manager or Player Career no longer appears.
  • The Load button is missing from the Career menu.
  • A Career started on another device or console cannot be found.

Step 1: check the profile you are using

When to use it: first, especially if several accounts are used on the same PC or console.

Suggested solution

  1. Make sure you are signed in to the correct platform profile (EA app, Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation or Xbox account): this is the first check EA suggests.
  2. If you recently switched accounts, sign back in with the one used to create the Career and relaunch the game.

Expected result: the Career reappears under the right profile.

Step 2: Load button missing

When to use it: the Career menu offers no Load option.

Suggested solution

  1. EA states that some versions automatically load your most recent save instead of showing a Load option: check whether the Career that opens is yours.
  2. Otherwise, go back to the main menu and select Career Mode again to refresh the available saves.

Expected result: the save loads automatically or appears in the list.

Step 3: Career created on another device

When to use it: you play on several devices.

Suggested solution

  1. EA advises checking that cloud saves are enabled if you play on multiple devices. The setting depends on your platform (PC launcher or console): check its help pages if you can't find it.
  2. Check this setting on each device you use.

Expected result: the Career is available on the second device.

Step 4: upgrade from PS4 to PS5 or from Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S

When to use it: the Career disappeared after moving to the current-generation version.

Suggested solution

According to EA, Career Mode is not part of the progress transferred by Dual Entitlement: each generation keeps its own save. Launch the PS4 or Xbox One version of the game (still downloadable on the new console after upgrading) to find your Career.

Expected result: the Career is present in the previous-generation version.

When the save cannot be recovered

To fix glitches, EA suggests deleting files from Customise > Profile > Delete. That procedure explicitly asks you to keep files with "Career" in the name: these are your Career saves, and EA states they won't be redownloaded and can't be restored. If one of these files was deleted, that Career cannot be recovered this way.

Good to know

  • EA states that Career Mode supports up to 15 seasons per save.
  • A Career started in EA SPORTS FC 26 stays tied to that game: EA mentions no Career transfer to EA SPORTS FC 27.

Final check

  • ☐ The game is launched with the profile that created the Career.
  • ☐ Career Mode was reopened from the main menu.
  • ☐ Cloud saves are enabled if several devices are used.
  • ☐ After a PS4/PS5 or Xbox One/Series upgrade, the old version was checked.
