This guide covers EA SPORTS FC 27 on PC (often searched as "FIFA 27") when the game stutters, inputs respond late or the match seems to run in slow motion. EA describes these symptoms on its FC 27 PC performance troubleshooting page: they can appear even offline and even when the FPS counter looks normal. First you need to know whether the problem comes from the PC or from the connection, because the fixes are different.
For stuttering in all your games, not just FC 27, the general guide PC game stuttering or FPS drops even though the PC is powerful (French guide) is a better fit.
- Regular stuttering or sudden spikes during EA SPORTS FC 27 matches.
- Delayed inputs, including in offline matches.
- Gameplay that feels like slow motion even though the average FPS looks fine.
Step 1: tell a PC problem from a connection problem
When to use it: always first.
- Play an offline match (against the computer, for example a Kick-Off friendly).
- If the stuttering or slow motion is also present offline, the lead is the PC: go to step 2.
- If it only appears online, with high ping, packet loss or disconnections, the lead is the connection: EA then points to its Connection Quality tool and its connection troubleshooting steps (Ethernet cable rather than Wi-Fi, no VPN, other network activities stopped during the match).
Expected result: you know which branch to follow. The rest of this guide covers the PC case.
Step 2: compare the PC with the required configuration
When to use it: if the problem also appears offline.
- Open the page What are the requirements to play EA SPORTS FC 27?.
- Compare your graphics card, its video memory (VRAM), your processor and your RAM with the Minimum and Recommended columns. EA links each level to a resolution and a graphics preset: the minimum configuration targets 720p on the Low preset.
- To find your hardware: open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc), Performance tab, then look at CPU, Memory and GPU.
Expected result: you know which settings level your PC can aim for. A PC close to the minimum won't hold a high resolution and preset.
Step 3: lower the FPS target and demanding settings
When to use it: in every case where the PC is at fault. EA recommends applying these changes one at a time and testing a match after each change.
- In the game's graphics settings, lower the target frame rate: EA gives the example of going from 60 to 30 FPS.
- Reduce the graphics quality and resolution, using the preset EA lists for your hardware level (step 2).
- Play an offline match after each change.
Expected result: the game stays smooth and responsive. You can then raise the settings one by one until you find the point where the stuttering comes back.
Step 4: close background applications
When to use it: if applications are running while you play. EA mentions browsers, overlays, recording tools, launchers and other apps that use the CPU, GPU or memory.
- Before launching the game, close the browser, recording or streaming tools and unnecessary launchers.
- Open Task Manager, Processes tab, and sort by CPU then by Memory to spot what uses the most.
- Disable the overlays you don't use one at a time (Discord's, Steam's or your graphics card software's, for example), then test.
Expected result: less stuttering. If a specific overlay is at fault, the problem disappears as soon as it is disabled.
💡 PC CONFORT RECOMMENDATION
To prepare the PC before a match, you can use the PC Confort tool Gaming Booster. It switches the PC to game mode, lists what it changed and undoes those changes at the end of the session. It also shows FPS, temperatures and latency while you play.

Step 5: check that the RAM runs in dual-channel mode
When to use it: if the PC has only one RAM stick, or if you don't know how they are installed. EA states that memory running in single-channel instead of dual-channel mode is one possible cause of poor or unstable performance. All the FC 27 PC configurations published by EA list dual-channel RAM.
- Open Task Manager, Performance tab, then Memory. The Slots used line shows how many sticks are installed (for example 1 of 2).
- To find out which mode is actually active, check the BIOS/UEFI or a hardware information tool, as EA advises.
- If you have several sticks, check in your motherboard or PC manual that they are in the recommended slots for dual channel.
- If you have one stick, check the manufacturer's specifications to know which memory to add (type, number of modules, slots).
Expected result: the memory runs in dual channel. On some systems, EA states that this can improve performance and reduce stuttering.
Before opening the PC, shut it down and unplug it. On a laptop, RAM is sometimes soldered and can't be added: check the manufacturer's documentation.
Step 6: graphics driver and power settings
When to use it: if the previous steps were not enough.
- Update the graphics card driver from its manufacturer's website (NVIDIA, AMD or Intel) or from your laptop manufacturer.
- Check the Windows power mode: Change the power mode for your Windows PC. On a laptop, plug in the charger and check the performance mode offered by the manufacturer's software.
- Also check the settings in the graphics card control panel, which EA also mentions: restore the defaults if you had changed them for FC 27.
Expected result: smooth matches, with no slow motion or delayed inputs offline.
Final check
- ☐ The problem was tested offline to rule out the connection.
- ☐ The resolution and preset match the hardware level listed by EA.
- ☐ Unnecessary apps and overlays are closed while playing.
- ☐ The RAM runs in dual channel, or the single-stick limitation has been identified.
- ☐ A full offline match plays without stuttering or slow motion.
