Some of these blocks were bugs, fixed by EA in the v1.1.0 update of October 27, 2026. The rest depends on FC 27's new negotiation rules. This guide helps you tell them apart and get the renewal done.

What to know before you start
- Where renewals are handled: according to EA, the Active Negotiations area of the Transfers tab brings together incoming transfers, outgoing transfers and contract renewals. The Contracts & Clauses area gives an overview of your squad's contracts, including those about to expire.
- What is negotiated: wage, length, signing bonus, agent fees and squad role. EA warns that the promised role creates playing-time expectations. You can also add performance bonuses and clauses tied to the club's results.
- What drives demands up: for a renewal, EA mentions how the player's overall rating has changed since the previous contract, the club's financial situation and the career stage (young talent, peak player or veteran).
- The v1.1.0 fixes: renewals possible again when transfer market activity was disabled at creation; personal negotiation possible after a delegation; no more "0.0k" display; finalize or decline options back after a first refusal; veterans less demanding about squad roles; wages adjusted when bonuses are offered; the icon showing a player open to contract talks back on the Financial tab.
Step 1: install v1.1.0 and make a manual save
When to use it: always, first.
Suggested solution
- Fully quit EA SPORTS FC 27 and let your platform install the latest update.
- Restart the game and load your Manager Career.
- Make a manual save before opening an important negotiation.
Expected result: your Career runs with the v1.1.0 fixes, and you can go back if a negotiation goes wrong.
When to stop: if no update is offered, check the EA server status and try again later.
Step 2: find players open to a renewal
When to use it: you do not know which players will agree to talk.
Suggested solution
- Open the Contracts & Clauses area to see contracts nearing expiry.
- On the Financial tab, look for the icon showing a player open to new contract talks: v1.1.0 fixed it being missing.
- Start the renewal, then follow it in Transfers > Active Negotiations.
Expected result: the renewal shows up in active negotiations.
Step 3: unblock a delegated renewal
When to use it: you handed the renewal to your staff, then the negotiation shows "0.0k" or no longer lets you take over.
Suggested solution
- Check that v1.1.0 is installed (step 1): both problems are fixed in it.
- Reopen the negotiation in Active Negotiations and check that the desired wage displays correctly.
- Take over the negotiation yourself if you wish.
Expected result: the requested wage displays normally and you can negotiate personally.
Rollback: if a negotiation started before the update stays stuck, reload a save made before the delegation if you have one, then start the renewal again.
Step 4: try again after a first refusal
When to use it: the player declined your first offer and you no longer see how to close the deal.
Suggested solution
- Read the player's response: according to the v1.1 Pitch Notes, EA added distinct responses that explain why a club or player rejects an offer.
- Adjust the point that blocks (wage, length, role, bonuses) and send a new offer.
- Check that the options to finalize the deal or decline the renewal appear: their absence was a bug fixed in v1.1.0.
Expected result: the next offer can be finalized or dropped normally.
Step 5: bring excessive demands down
When to use it: the player asks for a wage or role that does not match his place in the squad.
Suggested solution
- Role: offer the role you can really honour. Since v1.1.0, older players no longer disproportionately demand a crucial role.
- Performance bonuses: since v1.1.0, the base wage requested takes the offered bonuses into account. Compare an offer with bonuses and one without.
- Club finances: EA states that the club's financial situation influences demands. Free up room in your wage budget if needed.
Expected result: demands become consistent with the player and your club again.
When to stop: a player whose overall rating has risen sharply since his last contract will logically ask for more, according to EA. If the deal stays out of budget, consider selling him before his contract runs out.
