Attribute Points reset in EA SPORTS FC 27: the Archetypes update explained

You launch The Grounds or Clubs in EA SPORTS FC 27 and your Pro no longer has its Attribute Points (AP) assigned as before: the Attributes you had upgraded are back to their base value, while your Archetype level hasn't changed. This is neither a corrupted save nor a hacked account: EA deliberately reset the AP of every Archetype with an update deployed on 22 October 2026. This guide explains what changed, how to check that this is your case, and how to reassign your points without paying anything.

Problem

  • Your Pro's Attribute Points were reset in The Grounds / Clubs.
  • Your Archetype level and total AP look unchanged, but nothing is assigned anymore.
  • Some upgrades cost more or fewer AP than before for the same Attribute.
  • You can't rebuild exactly the same setup with the same points.

What happened

In a news post published on 19 October 2026, The Grounds development team explains that certain Attributes were classified incorrectly, which affected their AP costs. EA therefore:

  • adjusted the AP cost of several Attributes, Archetype by Archetype;
  • removed Attacking Positioning as a requirement for Archetype Specializations;
  • reset Attribute Points for all Archetypes, in an update announced "by Thursday, October 22th, 2:00am Pacific Time" (11:00 Paris time).

EA states that your level and total amount of AP per Archetype do not change: only the assigned points must be redistributed. As compensation, any player who had previously created a Pro receives 5,000 Club Coins and one 1.75x AXP Multiplier for 6 Matches.

Practical consequence: even with the same AP total, your old build may no longer cost exactly the same. Some Attributes became more expensive for a given Archetype, others cheaper.

Step 1: check that this reset is the cause

When to use it: as soon as you notice your assigned AP are gone.

Suggested solution

  1. Open the Archetypes menu and look at the affected Archetype.
  2. Compare its level with what you had before: according to EA, it should not have changed.
  3. Check that AP are available to assign: the total should match your level.
  4. Do the same check on a second Archetype you had already upgraded: the reset applies to all Archetypes.

Expected result: unchanged level + AP available to redistribute = you are affected by the 22 October reset. Go to step 2.

When to stop: if your Archetype level went down, or if your Pro, items or coins disappeared, this is not the case described here. Go directly to "If your situation doesn't match".

Step 2: understand the new costs before reassigning your points

When to use it: before rebuilding your Pro, especially if you were aiming for a specific Specialization.

Suggested solution

  1. Open EA's official news post (link in the sources) and go to Attribute Adjustments Breakdown.
  2. Find your Archetype: EA lists the Attributes whose AP cost increased and those whose cost decreased.
  3. Example given by EA for the Finisher Archetype: 6 Attributes more expensive (Acceleration, Sprint Speed, Agility, Vision, Ball Control, Dribbling) and 4 cheaper (Reactions, Composure, Finishing, Volleys).
  4. If you were aiming for an Archetype Specialization, note that Attacking Positioning is no longer a requirement: points you only put there to unlock the Specialization can go elsewhere.

Expected result: you know which Attributes now cost more for your Archetype and you adjust your plan accordingly.

Note: on the French version of the article, some Attribute names are mistranslated. If in doubt, the English version of the same news post is the reference.

Step 3: reassign your points (free)

When to use it: once your plan is ready.

Suggested solution

  1. Go to the Archetypes menu and select the Archetype to rebuild.
  2. Assign your AP to the Attributes you want.
  3. If you make a mistake, lower the Attribute concerned: according to EA Help, you can remove points incrementally, without resetting your whole build.
  4. Adjusting or resetting your Attributes costs nothing: no paid reset item or Grounds Coins are needed. Don't buy anything to "get your points back".
  5. Before a Clubs League match, you must be on the bench to edit your Archetype: Player Management tab > Archetypes > make your changes > return to the lobby.
  6. In Rush or Drop-In: Archetypes tab > Archetypes > make your changes > return to the lobby.

Expected result: your Pro has a complete build again, with the same AP total as before the update.

Rollback: if the build doesn't suit you after a few matches, just remove points and reassign them; it's free and EA doesn't mention any limit.

Step 4: check the compensation (Club Coins and AXP Multiplier)

When to use it: you had created a Pro before the update and you don't see the 5,000 Club Coins or the 1.75x AXP Multiplier.

Suggested solution

  1. First check that you're eligible: EA reserves this compensation for players who had already created a Pro before the reset.
  2. Quit and restart The Grounds. For missing rewards, EA Help states it can take up to 24 hours for rewards to appear.
  3. The AXP Multiplier is a consumable: before equipping it, note that according to EA Help, equipping some consumables (such as a Party AXP Multiplier) replaces the active one, and any remaining matches on the replaced consumable are lost.
  4. After 24 hours with nothing, follow EA's missing rewards article (link in the sources) before contacting support.

Expected result: the Club Coins and the Multiplier appear in your inventory, or you have the information to give EA support.

If your situation doesn't match

  • Your Archetype level went down or your Pro disappeared: this is not the effect described by EA. Note what you see (screenshots) and contact EA support.
  • Your Career progress disappeared: that's a different problem, see Career Mode save missing in EA SPORTS FC 27.
  • An Amp bonus no longer applies to your Pro: an Amp applies to the active Archetype, and its Affinity bonus only on the matching Archetype; check it in the Amps tab of the Archetypes menu (details in EA Help on Amps, in the sources).

Final check

  • ☐ Unchanged Archetype level and AP available: this is the 22 October 2026 reset.
  • ☐ You checked the list of new costs for your Archetype.
  • ☐ All your AP are reassigned, without buying anything.
  • ☐ The compensation (5,000 Club Coins, 1.75x AXP Multiplier for 6 Matches) is visible, or you waited 24 hours before reporting it missing.
