FC Points purchase limit missing in EA SPORTS FC 27: enable Playtime

English translation of the original French post. Code, commands, paths and error codes keep their original meaning. Replies and moderation are shared in the original discussion.

FC Playtime in EA SPORTS FC 27 (sometimes searched for as "FIFA 27") lets you track your time and matches, and set personal weekly limits on FC Points purchases, Ultimate Team Packs and the number of matches. If you can't find these limits or a counter seems to ignore a purchase, the cause is most often where the menu is opened from, or the counting rules described by EA.

Problem

  • The FC Points or Pack purchase limit option doesn't appear.
  • The match limit can't be changed from the Web or Companion App.
  • FC Points bought or Packs opened aren't counted in Playtime.

Before you start

According to EA Help, Playtime isn't enabled by default. Once enabled, it is on across all your devices: the game on PC or console, the Web App and the Companion App.

Step 1: enable Playtime

When to use it: no Playtime menu or data appears.

Suggested solution

Enable the feature through one of these paths:

WherePath
Game main menuSettings → Online Settings → Privacy Settings → Share Playtime Usage Data
Ultimate TeamClub tab → Settings → Playtime
Web or Companion AppSettings → Playtime menu → toggle on Enable Playtime

If the Web or Companion App was open while you changed the setting in-game, close it and reopen it.

Expected result: the Playtime menu shows your data and its limit options.

Step 2: open Playtime from Ultimate Team for FC Points and Packs

When to use it: Playtime is enabled, but the FC Points or Pack purchase limit still can't be found. EA states that these limits are only accessible when Playtime is opened in Ultimate Team (or in the Web and Companion Apps), not from the game's main menu.

Suggested solution

  1. On the Ultimate Team Main Menu, go to the Club tab.
  2. Select the Settings tile, then the Playtime tile.
  3. Select Points Purchase Limit (FC Points) or Pack Purchase Limit (Packs).
  4. Select Edit Limit, then set the weekly limit with the on-screen keypad.

Expected result: the chosen weekly limit is shown. You can later reset it to the default (unlimited).

Step 3: set the match limit from the game

When to use it: you can see the match limit in the Web or Companion App but can't change it. EA states that it can only be set from the in-game Playtime menu on console and PC.

Suggested solution

  1. From the game's main menu, open Settings → Playtime → Match Limits.
  2. Select Edit Limit and set the number of matches you want per week.

Expected result: once that number is reached, the game shows a reminder message. This limit is shared across all game modes; Simulated Career Mode matches aren't counted.

Step 4: understand a counter that doesn't move

When to use it: a purchase or Pack doesn't seem to be counted.

Suggested solution

  • FC Points bought outside the Ultimate Team Store (retail card, platform store): they are added to the weekly count once you redeem the FC Points, log out of Ultimate Team and log back in.
  • Packs: only Packs opened with FC Points or Ultimate Team Coins are counted. Reward Packs (for example from a Squad Building Challenge) aren't.
  • Pack Previews: they count neither towards limits nor towards the number of Packs opened.

Expected result: after logging back in to Ultimate Team, the counter reflects eligible purchases.

Special cases

  • Time Spent differs between the game and the apps: time spent in the Web and Companion Apps is only shown in the apps. The time shown on PC doesn't include it, but PC time is counted in the apps' weekly totals and averages.
  • Offline Time: it is saved to a local file, never uploaded, and reset to zero each week.

The EA article describes the match limit as a reminder message. It doesn't say exactly what happens when the FC Points or Pack limit is reached: check the on-screen behaviour after setting it, and don't treat it as a parental control.

Final check

  • ☐ Playtime is enabled (main menu, Ultimate Team or app).
  • ☐ FC Points and Pack limits were set from the Ultimate Team Club tab or from the app.
  • ☐ The match limit was set from the game on PC.
  • ☐ After a purchase outside the Ultimate Team Store, the FC Points were redeemed and you logged back in to Ultimate Team.
