You create a new tactic in EA SPORTS FC 27, save it, and in the next match some players are no longer in their position? Or the Team Management screen does not show all of your players' roles? These problems affected Ultimate Team and Manager Career. EA fixed them in the v1.1.0 update of October 27, 2026. This guide explains how to check your team and fix a tactic saved before the update.
Problem
- After saving a new tactic, some players end up in the wrong position.
- In Manager Career, the formation moves your players after you create a tactic from the Team Management screen.
- The Team Management screen shows at most five Player Roles.
- In a Kick Off match, the player name does not update in Team Management after a substitution.
What to know before you start
- The v1.1.0 fixes: EA lists as fixed new tactics being saved incorrectly in Ultimate Team, with players moved to the wrong positions; the same problem in Manager Career after creating a tactic from the Team Management screen; the display limit of five Player Roles; and the name not updating after a substitution in a Kick Off match.
- A redesigned screen: according to the v1.1 Pitch Notes, EA overhauled the Team Management layout across multiple modes. If things look different after the update, that is expected.
- The update does not necessarily rewrite your tactics: EA does not say whether tactics saved before v1.1.0 are fixed automatically. Check them one by one.
Step 1: install v1.1.0
When to use it: always, first.
Suggested solution
- Fully quit EA SPORTS FC 27 and let your platform install the latest update.
- Restart the game.
- In Manager Career, make a manual save before editing your tactics.
Expected result: the game runs with the v1.1.0 fixes.
When to stop: if no update is offered, check the EA server status and try again later.
Step 2: check every tactic saved before the update
When to use it: you created tactics before October 27, 2026.
Suggested solution
- Open the Team Management screen and load a saved tactic.
- Compare the formation shown with each player's placement: position, role and instructions.
- Put moved players back, then save the tactic again.
- Reload the tactic to check that the positions are kept.
- Repeat for every tactic you use in matches.
Expected result: every reloaded tactic keeps your players in position.
Rollback: in Career, if a change goes wrong, reload your manual save.
When to stop: if players still move after saving again, go to step 3.
Step 3: recreate the tactic if positions still change
When to use it: an old tactic keeps moving players.

- Create a new tactic with the same formation, from the updated game.
- Place your players, set roles and instructions, then save.
- Reload the tactic to check the placement.
- Use this new tactic instead of the old one.
Expected result: the new tactic, created with v1.1.0, keeps the positions.

Step 4: check before kick-off
When to use it: before every important match, in Ultimate Team and in Career.

- On the pre-match screen, open Team Management.
- Check the selected tactic and each starter's position.

Expected result: you start the match with the setup you planned.
