Does EA SPORTS FC 27 (often searched for as "FIFA 27") close suddenly on your PC, drop you back to the Windows desktop or freeze during a match? This guide starts from what you observe to isolate the cause, based on EA's support pages and graphics driver release notes. One point should be checked first if your laptop or desktop uses the built-in graphics of an Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processor: Intel lists a known FC 27 crash on those platforms.
If you play on PS5 or Xbox Series, see EA SPORTS FC 27 crashing or freezing on PS5 or Xbox Series: causes and solutions instead.
Observe before acting
Write down these three things, they guide the next steps:
| Observation | Most likely hypothesis | Step |
|---|---|---|
| The PC has an Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processor and the game runs on its built-in graphics | Known issue reported by Intel | Step 1 |
| A message mentions EA Javelin or the anti-cheat | Anti-cheat | See the guide on the EA Javelin error |
| The game does not crash, but stutters or runs in slow motion | Performance | See the guide on FC 27 PC stuttering |
| None of these situations | Driver, game files, background software | Steps 2 to 6 |
Also check that your PC meets at least the minimum configuration published by EA: EA SPORTS FC 27 PC requirements.
Step 1: PC with an Intel Core Ultra Series 2
When to use it: your processor is an Intel Core Ultra Series 2 and FC 27 is displayed by the built-in Intel Arc graphics.
In the release notes of its graphics driver 32.0.101.9150 WHQL (October 12, 2026), Intel lists among the known issues: "EA SPORTS FC 27 (DX12) may experience an application crash on certain series 2 platforms", meaning FC 27 may crash on some Core Ultra Series 2 platforms with built-in Intel Arc graphics. Intel does not publish a workaround for this issue. On November 2, 2026, Intel's download page still offers this 101.9150 driver as the latest version.
Expected result: with the dedicated card, the game no longer runs on the Intel graphics and the known crash no longer applies. With only the built-in graphics, you need to wait for an Intel driver that announces the fix: the following steps can help if the crash has another cause, but they do not fix a driver issue.
Step 2: update the graphics driver
When to use it: your PC is not affected by step 1, or the driver has not been updated for a long time.
Expected result: the crash goes away if it came from an old driver. EA lists updating the graphics driver among its PC troubleshooting steps.
If the screen goes black after the driver update: follow the guide Black screen after a graphics driver update (French guide).
Step 3: repair the game files
When to use it: the game always crashes at the same point, or after a game update.
Expected result: damaged or missing files are downloaded again and the game launches normally.
Step 4: delete the game's corrupt files
When to use it: the game freezes in certain menus or modes, or comes with graphical bugs or disconnections.
EA explains that files downloaded in the background by the game can become corrupt and cause freezes. The procedure (Customise > Profile > Delete menu, keeping the Career files) is detailed in Bugs and disconnections in EA SPORTS FC 27: delete the game's corrupt files. Never delete files with "Career" in their name: they cannot be restored.
Expected result: the files are downloaded again at the next launch and the freezes caused by these files go away.
Step 5: rule out background software
When to use it: the crash happens at random, or since you installed new software (overlay, recording tool, tuning utility).
Expected result: if the game is stable after a clean boot, the culprit is a program launched at startup, which you can then identify.
Step 6: cap the frame rate
When to use it: the game freezes or crashes mainly during matches, when the graphics card is under heavy load.
Expected result: the graphics card is under less load. EA suggests this setting in its guide on crashes and freezes.
If nothing works, EA then recommends reinstalling the game and the EA app.
Special cases
| Situation | What you need to know |
|---|---|
| The crash appeared right after a game update | Check whether EA already knows about the issue with the guide Bug in EA SPORTS FC 27: check if it is already known and report it to EA. |
| The game does not download or install completely | See EA SPORTS FC 27 download stuck in the EA app. |
| Intel Core Ultra Series 2 laptop without a dedicated card | Only an Intel driver announcing the fix solves the known issue. Do not replace the manufacturer's driver without checking its website first. |
Final check
- ☐ You know whether your processor is an Intel Core Ultra Series 2 and which graphics the game uses.
- ☐ The graphics driver is up to date.
- ☐ The game files have been repaired in the EA app or verified in Steam.
- ☐ The game has been tested after a clean boot, then Windows has been set back to normal startup.
- ☐ The frame rate is capped if the crash happens during matches.
