Valorant VCT 2027: Riot’s competitive integrity plan for Open Qualifiers — Vanguard Check, Ascendant+ and streaming rules (November 5, 2026)
Riot’s November 5, 2026 VALORANT post details how VCT 2027 protects online Open Qualifiers: Vanguard Check compliance, Ascendant+ rank gate, staged monitoring through Playoffs, a two-minute POV stream delay, and bans for cheating or match manipulation.
Consulted November 5, 2026 (Europe/Paris). Riot Games published Protecting Competitive Integrity in VCT 2027 on the official VALORANT site (Game Updates, timestamp 2026-11-05T16:00:00.000Z / 17:00 Paris). It explains how the Champions Tour will police online Open Qualifiers and later stages as more teams enter the path to pro play.
Anti-cheat and player verification
- Riot states a zero-tolerance policy for cheating and for enabling or assisting others to cheat.
- All Open Qualifier competitors must be Vanguard Check compliant (Riot points to its existing Vanguard / Pre-Check materials).
- Stronger hardware/software security requirements, account eligibility checks and extra verification as teams advance.
- Investigations combine Vanguard detection, account reviews, match evidence and tournament probes; confirmed violations can mean disqualification and competitive suspensions.
Rank and account standing
- Players need Ascendant+ to compete in Open Qualifiers.
- Elsewhere in the same post Riot also states that all members of a competing team must have hit a peak of Ascendant+ in the last 6 months.
- Eligible accounts must be in good standing: not currently banned; no Game Ban, Vanguard Intervention, Ranked Restriction or Comms Restriction in the last 30 days; and no Ranked queue restriction during enrollment or competition.
Integrity that scales by stage
- Competition stage — Measures (per Riot)
- Open Qualifiers — Vanguard-led protection, post-match reporting, retroactive enforcement; additional account security under consideration
- Open Play-Ins — Elevated baseline; regions may add monitoring, verification and oversight
- Open Playoffs — Full framework required: voice monitoring, player POV recordings, match-area cameras, extra anti-cheat checks and more
Officials may request extra checks mid-match (setups, recordings, live match-area streams, communications where rules allow).
Streaming and coaches
- Players may livestream Open Qualifier matches, but player POV streams need at least a two-minute broadcast delay.
- Team multi-POV broadcasts are allowed if each stream meets that delay.
- Third-party creators may co-stream player POV streams after tournament operator approval.
- Coaches may communicate with players in early online stages; later Cup qualification stages follow monitored coach rules similar to current VCT.
Online technical disputes (high level)
Players own their connection and setup. Events will define technical-pause rules in the Online Play Rulebook. Ping will not be identical for everyone; operators follow server-selection procedures. Extended whole-tournament pauses are limited because many brackets run in parallel.
Conduct, betting and reporting
Match-fixing, betting-related misconduct and result manipulation are prohibited; teams can be sanctioned for staff/owner actions. Riot will not publish every investigation. Reports should go through official tournament channels, not community speculation.
Championship Points (preview)
Riot says Championship Points expand across nearly every VCT level in 2027, with higher weight at Cups/Masters than at Open Qualifiers. Full detail is promised in coming weeks — TricknFix does not invent point tables.
