Roblox Issues & Appeals (November 2, 2026): Creator Hub page, bans, alt detection, Wi-Fi myths
On November 2, 2026 Roblox published principles on account bans and alt detection and launched a Creator Hub Game Issues & Appeals page so edit collaborators can view violations and appeal. Official FAQs: shared Wi-Fi alone is not a ban reason; a username-scan issue was paused.
Consulted November 5, 2026 (Europe/Paris). On November 2, 2026 (DevForum post timestamp ~23:46 UTC, about 00:46 Europe/Paris on November 3), Roblox staff published Update on Account Bans, Alt Detection, and Appeals. The post launches a Game Issues & Appeals page on Creator Hub and explains ban principles, linked-account detection, and FAQs that many players had been asking about (shared Wi-Fi, old usernames, Marketplace text flags).
This article restates that official post and the Help Center appeals entry. It does not judge individual bans and cannot guarantee an appeal outcome.
New Creator Hub Issues & Appeals page
Roblox says game collaborators with edit permissions—not only owners—can now view game violations and file appeals:
- Open Creator Hub → Creations > [Game] > Safety > Issues & appeals.
- Review active game violations.
- Open a violation for details and submit an appeal if you believe it is incorrect.
Appeals still do not guarantee a reversal; the change mainly removes the owner-only bottleneck for team games.
Ban principles Roblox stated
- Systems act on evidence; they cannot determine intent.
- Account bans target severe or repeated Community Standards violations, not everyday mistakes.
- For severe violations, Roblox may also moderate high-confidence alt accounts.
- Alt detection uses multiple signals together, not a single signal. Sharing an IP address or Wi-Fi network alone does not trigger action.
- Mistakes happen; players/creators can appeal via Violations & Appeals or Roblox Support.
“Severe” examples listed include child endangerment, real-world harm, and hate speech; repeated ignored lower-severity violations can also escalate.
What Roblox says it is improving
- Clearer ban notices — including cases tied to a linked account or an old username; Roblox paused the username scan that triggered some of those bans and calls unrecognized old-username cases an error they are fixing.
- More proportionate Marketplace consequences for first-time description wording mistakes versus repeats.
- 72-hour grace for lower-severity issues on games in Roblox Select before restriction, then report back via Appeals when fixed.
- Expanded appeal eligibility for more takedown types in the coming months (roadmap, not all types today).
FAQ highlights (official answers)
- Banned only for sharing library/school Wi-Fi? No — IP/Wi-Fi alone is not a reason.
- Banned only because a roommate/family member was banned? Not solely for that reason; multiple signals are used. Appeal if you believe an error occurred.
- Ban notice shows an old username or “ro ***” you do not recognize? Roblox describes this as an error; the related scan was paused.
- Marketplace item flagged for description text? Automated filters catch terms that violate standards or associate with prohibited subjects; appeal if incorrect.
- How to appeal a ban you believe is wrong? Violations & Appeals or Support, from the email tied to the account, with username and a short explanation.
- Appeal for a friend? For privacy, Roblox discusses cases only with the account holder.
Roblox also asks creators not to buy/sell/share accounts, to use unique credentials and 2-step verification, and not to post other users’ account details publicly.
