Season 1 for Modern Warfare 4 and Warzone goes live at midnight ET on November 6, 2026. Official maps, level reset, Switch 2 launch, and end of play on PS4/Xbox One — from Activision and PlayStation Blog only.

Consulted November 5, 2026 (Europe/Paris). Activision’s Call of Duty Blog and the PlayStation Blog describe Season 1 for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and a major Call of Duty: Warzone update going live at 0000 (midnight) Eastern Time on November 6, 2026 (stated as 2100 Pacific Time on November 5). That corresponds to 05:00 Europe/Paris on November 6.
This article summarizes those official posts only. Mid-season items (for example Verdansk’s return) are labeled as such. Platform availability can still change after this consultation date.

Season 1 roadmap — Call of Duty Blog
  • Start: midnight ET, November 6, 2026 (2100 PT, November 5), across platforms listed by Activision.
  • Scope: free Season 1 content for Modern Warfare 4 Multiplayer and DMZ, plus a Warzone update that Activision describes as full integration with Modern Warfare 4.

Warzone maps at launch

Hajin — Call of Duty Blog
Per the Warzone Season 1 blog:
  • Hajin — new Battle Royale map on the Korean Peninsula, narratively linked to the Modern Warfare 4 campaign. Activision cites 13 major points of interest across North and South Korea. DMZ players may recognize the region; the blog notes BR differences (gas/Edge Circle, vehicles, loot, and no radioactive cloud at Hanuel Nuclear Reactor as in the DMZ tour notes).
  • Zodiac — new Resurgence map built around the DRC Advanced Systems drone assembly and manufacturing headquarters (Beenox collaboration is mentioned in secondary coverage; stick to the official map description for facts).
Verdansk is listed as a returning Battle Royale map later in Season 1 (in-season), not as a day-one launch map. Rebirth Island is listed among returning Resurgence maps in the season overview.

Integration, level reset, and new gear

At Season 1 launch, the Warzone blog states players should expect:
  • A Player Level reset, with optional Prestige across Multiplayer, DMZ, and Warzone.
  • Access to all 33 Modern Warfare 4 launch weapons, plus Season 1 armaments, including Weapon Prestige and Warzone Mastery Camos paths described on the blog.
  • New gear highlighted in the overview: Zipline Launcher and Grabber Drone, plus Elite Perks.
  • Launch modes including Battle Royale and Resurgence (with Casual variants), plus limited-time modes such as Rally Point, with more LTMs called out for mid-season.

Nintendo Switch 2; PlayStation 4 and Xbox One

  • Nintendo Switch 2: Warzone launches on Switch 2 at the start of Season 1 as a free-to-play title, per Activision.
  • PlayStation 4 and Xbox One: Starting with Season 1, Warzone is no longer playable on those consoles as the game and Modern Warfare 4 move on from older-generation hardware. Activision says progression carries over to a supported platform if you sign in with the same linked Activision account.

Modern Warfare 4 Multiplayer and DMZ (PlayStation Blog)

The PlayStation Blog post (October 28, 2026) lists Season 1 Multiplayer content at launch:
  • Maps: all-new Backstab and Canyon, plus a reimagined Shoot House (North Korea snowfall setting in the blog’s wording).
  • Modes at launch: return of Grind and Drop Zone.
  • Mid-season (as announced): maps Ministry and Overflow; new mode Counter Attack.
  • DMZ: new weapons facility X01 with tunnels, shifting hazards, Orders, Threat Briefing, and Resupply Runs as described by Activision.
  • Battle Pass: 100+ unlocks; premium catch-up that can advance rewards to the current day of the season up to day 50. New weapons called out: Cronen Osprey assault rifle and CSG-35 SMG.
