Consulted November 5, 2026 (Europe/Paris). Ubisoft’s free “The Most Requested Update” for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is live as of November 5, 2026. Xbox Wire confirms it on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One; PlayStation.Blog confirms PS5 and PS5 Pro. Reported patch notes (version 1.8.0) also list PC (Ubisoft Connect, Steam) and PS4; check your platform’s update queue.
New Game+
- Unlocks after completing the Holy Day Quest (the last quest of the Hamtunscire region — before the true ending).
- Each New Game+ iteration scales up in difficulty.
Progression and loot changes
- Mithril: a new resource to upgrade divine gear. In New Game+, you get it when you receive gear or a book of knowledge you already own; it is also sold in the Niflheim, Mastery and River Raid shops.
- Gear upgrades: max level per piece rises from 13 to 27.
- In New Game+, Carbon, Nickel and Tungsten in Wealth Chests become Platinum.
- Extended Progression Mode: when enabled, gear upgrades, runes and masteries count toward your power level.
- Stash in Ravensthorpe to store gear and runes.
- Rune Forge: upgrade runes for silver from the menu, new Superior tier, and 300+ engravable runes.
Ubisoft’s lead game designer David Larouche says the extended progression, gear upgrades and rune features are also available without starting New Game+.
PS5 Pro: upgraded PSSR
PlayStation.Blog says the update brings upgraded PSSR to the PS5 Pro version, with Ubisoft citing crisper, more stable 4K image quality and a Quality mode at 60 FPS on PS5 Pro. The same post lists two new achievements/trophies, a Master Assassin Naoe outfit and an Animus Hub synchronization update.
