Apex Legends hotfix (November 4, 2026): Crypto drone recall cut from 6s to 0.7s
Respawn’s Steam post “Apex Legends: Latest Update 11/4/26” shortens Crypto’s drone recall from 6 seconds to 0.7 seconds after Cipher rework feedback, fixes a crash when using ordnance while piloting the drone, and stops an exploit that allowed excessive Evac Towers. More Crypto changes that need a full client update are flagged as coming soon.
Consulted November 5, 2026 (Europe/Paris). On November 4, 2026 , Apex Legends published “Apex Legends: Latest Update 11/4/26” on Steam. This is a gameplay/hotfix note, separate from the same-day Anti-Cheat Ranked Rookie enforcement post.
Crypto: recall 6 seconds → 0.7 seconds
- Adjusted: Crypto drone recall time shortened from 6 seconds to 0.7 seconds .
- Dev note (Steam): Respawn says it is still watching match data and player feedback after Crypto’s Cipher rework, and that some finer details “missed the mark” for Crypto mains. This recall change is one it could ship quickly ; more changes that need a full client update are planned and “should be released soon.”
Context (not reinvented)
At Cipher launch, official patch notes described the new drone battery (about 25 seconds of actions before recall) and a 6-second recall before redeploy without a separate cooldown. The November 4 hotfix only changes the recall duration to 0.7 s in the Steam bullet list—it does not rewrite the whole Cipher Crypto kit in that post.
Fixes in the same Steam post
- Crypto: fixed a bug where using an ordnance while using Crypto’s drone could crash the game.
- Evac Towers: stopped an exploit that allowed players to use excessive Evac Towers .
TricknFix does not publish reproduction steps for the Evac Towers issue.
How this differs from other Apex posts this week
Post | Date | Focus
Cipher patch notes / season overview | Nov 2–3, 2026 | Full season kit (Crypto battery 25s, recall 6s at launch, Strongholds, etc.)
Latest Update 11/4/26 | Nov 4, 2026 | This article — recall 0.7s + crash + Evac Towers

What TricknFix does not invent
- No FPS claims, no “tier list” verdict, and no promise that further Crypto client changes will land on a named calendar day—Steam only says they should arrive soon .
- No exploit how-to for Evac Towers.
