Optional AMD driver 26.10.2 for Windows 10/11, dated October 30, 2026: fixes intermittent shutdowns and driver timeouts in several games, overlay conflicts, Steam launcher crashes and HAGS video timeouts on RX 7000.

Consulted November 5, 2026 (Europe/Paris). AMD published Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.10.2 as an Optional driver on October 30, 2026. The notes target Windows 10 64-bit (21H2 and later) and Windows 11 (21H2 and later). This is a stability package, not a Game Ready-style day-one title drop.

Fixed issues (official list)

  • Intermittent system shutdown while playing Valor Mortis on Radeon RX 7600 series.
  • Intermittent driver timeout while playing Valor Mortis on Radeon RX 7000 series.
  • Intermittent application crash or driver timeout in some games when opening or closing other overlays (for example Xbox Game Bar) while the Adrenalin Performance Metrics Overlay is enabled.
  • Intermittent system shutdown while playing FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE on Ryzen AI MAX PRO 400 Series processors.
  • Intermittent application hang in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach with AMD FSR enabled on Radeon RX 9000 series. AMD still recommends disabling AMD FSR if the hang continues.
  • Intermittent system crash or hang when switching apps or toggling overlays while a game uses in-game AMD FSR Frame Generation on RX 9000 series.
  • Intermittent application crash when launching the Steam launcher on Radeon graphics.
  • Intermittent driver timeout while playing video on Windows 11 with Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling (HAGS) enabled on RX 7000 series.
  • Application crash when playing games on Windows 10 with RX 9000 after uninstalling Adrenalin with the AMD Cleanup Utility.
  • AMD Install Manager failing to locate optional drivers when Recommended + Optional is selected.

Known issues still listed

AMD still documents open problems, including timeouts in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced (RX 7000), War Thunder on RX 5000 (AMD points users at 26.9.1), a Cyberpunk 2077 case with FSR upscaling / Anti-Lag / in-game frame generation plus secondary-display video playback (disable in-game frame generation), Alt+Tab freezes in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered on Ryzen AI Max PRO 400, a Gears of War: Reloaded black screen on Ryzen AI 9 400 (switch Windowed then Fullscreen), Smart Access Memory turning off after install on Windows 10, and visual corruption in Phantom Blade Zero / Modern Warfare Remastered on some RX 9000 cards.

How to install

1. Read the official 26.10.2 release notes and download the package from AMD (not a random mirror).
2. For laptops and AIOs, AMD still prefers OEM drivers when the vendor ships a customized stack.
3. If you need to roll back, AMD recommends the AMD Cleanup Utility before installing an older Adrenalin build.

What this is not

  • It is Optional, not presented as a WHQL “must install today” security patch.
  • The notes do not list Crimson Desert. Pearl Abyss’s game hotfix 2.04.06 already addressed an AMD Cinematic crash in Pailune with driver 26.10.1; treat that as a game fix, separate from 26.10.2.
  • TricknFix has not benchmarked this driver and does not invent FPS gains.
